Baked Lemon Pasta

on:Recipe: Baked Lemon Pasta
Ingredients: Thin spaghetti, lemon juice and zest, butter, plain greek yogurt, garlic, parsley, pecorino romano cheese
Taste: I don’t think you can go wrong with lemon. I halved the recipe except for the lemon juice/zest and it was awesome.
Texture: Since this pasta was cooked then baked, it was a little dry. I wasn’t sure if I was supposed to mix in the parsley and cheese after baking or just sprinkle it on. Also, since this is kind of plain, it probably fares better as a side dish rather than a main course. You could add chicken or something, but then it would probably be even more dry. We’ll see how the leftovers reheat.

Chicken Milano

on:Recipe: Chicken Milano
Ingredients: Chicken, pasta, butter, garlic, chicken broth, sun-dried tomatoes, cream, basil
Taste: This tasted great, just like the reviews said! I was concerned because I’m not a big fan of sun-dried tomatoes and because at the last minute I realized that dried basil may not equal fresh basil in terms of measurements. I was right, checked the bottle and 1tsp dried = 3tsp fresh. Good thing I stopped myself before adding that second tablespoon!
Texture: No complaints about the texture of the chicken, pasta, or sauce. I had a hard time coordinating all the ingredients to finish at the same time. The pasta was done really early but I kept it from sticking by tossing it every so often, and then tossing it with a few tablespoons of sauce once that was done (as the recipe said). The chicken was also done a little early, despite some very large pieces that took a while to cook through and probably should have been sliced in half had I not been lazy.

Fettuccini Alfredo

on:Recipe: Fettuccini Alfredo
Ingredients: Fettuccine, Chicken, Broccoli, Red Pepper, Milk, Cream Cheese, Butter, Garlic Powder, Salt & Pepper
Texture: The creaminess was perfect.
Taste: You could definitely taste the cream cheese. It tasted a bit unhealthy. It could have had more flavor but it had enough, it wasn’t bland.
Portion: This made a big meal for 2 people. Neither of us finished it because it was so heavy.
