Beef Stew

on:Experiment: Beef Stew
Ingredients: Pre-cooked stew meat, frozen stew vegetables (carrots, celery, onions, potatoes), beef broth, flour, thyme, onion powder, salt, pepper
Texture: Added the flour to give it a little thickness. This resulted in the potatoes and flour getting all mushy. It didn’t end up with the consistency I intended.
Taste: I was trying to find a way to use up pre-cooked stew meat and decided to throw it in with some broth and frozen veggies. I added the thyme which I had on hand and it didn’t have much flavor. When heating up the leftovers I added salt, pepper, and garlic powder which made it a little more bearable. I’m told I really need a bay leaf.
Overall, not bad for an experiment, using up some things I already had. I’m sure making it from scratch would have been exponentially better.
